Committed to working with each family to make CHA affordable.
FLEXIBLE TUITION PROGRAM
At Chatsworth Hills Academy, we understand that the cost of attending an independent school requires making a significant investment in your child's educational future. Recognizing that every situation is unique, we are committed to working with each family to find ways of making a CHA education affordable.
We encourage all families not to let concerns about the cost prevent them from learning more about the extraordinary benefits our students receive from their CHA education. Please join with us in exploring the ways through our Flexible Tuition Program to make this education affordable. Our school is committed to all types of diversity and to extending flexible tuition grants for students in Kindergarten-Grade 8.
Since every family's financial situations and obligations are different, there is no income cutoff for Flexible Tuition. If you think that you would qualify and if either a small or large reduction would help, you are encouraged to apply.
Request a Flexible Tuition Application as soon as you realize you will need tuition assistance to attend CHA. Please tell the Admissions Counselor that you intend to apply for Flexible Tuition. The time frame for applying moves rapidly and any delay can jeopardize your child's chances of receiving a grant. For timely processing, your PFS should arrive in Princeton by January 9, 2007, or you may also apply online at nais.org.
Your 2006 Federal Income tax returns (1040 and all attachments) need to be turned in to the Business Office as early in the new year as possible (preferably by February 12, 2007). Materials received after this date will continue to be most welcomed, but funds may be diminished due to grants made to those filing by February 12, 2007.
Since only completed Flexible Tuition applications will be considered, it is important to honor all deadlines. If you are divorced and the student lives with you and your income is low but your former spouse has significant financial resources, you may qualify. While all resources available to the students are considered in the Flexible Tuition award, legal decisions regarding tuitions are taken into consideration. If you are remarried, your spouse's income (i.e., your child's stepparent) applies to the Flex calculations. All resources are considered as family resources.
If you are self-employed and cannot submit your taxes by the deadline, you can approximate your taxes and submit to us that information. Any award made will be conditional upon receipt of the taxes and subject to reconciliation with the new information provided.
CHA only takes into account income from 2006, and awards are made on that basis for the 2007-2008 academic year. We cannot anticipate what may or may not happen in the future. If a family qualifies for more Flexible Tuition in the following year, they are typically given preference for an additional amount of award.
