The Chatsworth Hills Academy Early Childhood Program (Beginners, Intermediate and Pre-Kindergarten) provides a rich and nurturing environment where young children can explore their surroundings and relationships in a manner that is developmentally appropriate. As the littlest learners on CHA's beautiful campus, your children will enjoy their first school experience at CHA in an atmosphere which offers many opportunities for hands-on experiences. Our highly qualified staff recognizes that each child may be at a slightly different stage of development; and, therefore, all children are given the individual attention they need as well as large and small group experiences.

A program is designed for each class depending on age, experience and ability. Whether in the Beginners, Intermediate or Pre-Kindergarten Program, children participate in structured and unstructured activities that include gross and fine motor skills, eye-hand coordination, problem solving experience and language development skills. Our philosophy provides for a comfortable and secure setting in which your children will learn to negotiate, gain independence and build on their foundation of self-esteem. Our curriculum includes opportunities for art, sensory experiences, music, movement, nature studies, dramatic play and cooking. Our belief is that experience is not the best teacher... it is the ONLY teacher. Apparent and interwoven throughout the CHA community is a school wide commitment to core values and character education.

The social and emotional development of your child is a prime concern. We provide a non-threatening environment that encourages independence and a positive self image. Our classrooms host a number of different learning centers each day thereby offering the opportunity to make choices and develop problem solving skills. Understanding the importance of the partnership between home and school, we encourage you to participate in your child's early educational experience.
