Surf Camps

Summer Adventures at Chatsworth Hills Academy is delighted to introduce surf camps (co-ed). Each week-long session, enrolling students entering grades 3-8 in Fall '08, is led by an outstanding director. These extraordinary five day programs are designed for selection individually, as a group, and in combination with Chatsworth Hills Day Camp.

All registration is through the Summer Adventures at Chatsworth Hills Academy Office at www.chaschool.org or (818) 998-8141.

Das Jesson's Islands Surf Camp
July 14-18 & July 28-August 1

Spending a week at Islands Surf Camp is a great way for kids to build confidence and make new friends. The program offers a safe student-to-instructor ratio of three-to-one, and the hands-on approach teaches kids the fundamentals of surfing in addition to how to read the ocean and judge the waves. Campers learn about surfing and also receive daily instruction from the camp's staff of certified lifeguards on a rotating topic (CPR, first aid, rip tides, etc.). It's fun, it's safe, and it's an experience girls and boys will cherish for years. And you can be sure that after a day at surf camp, they will be sleeping soundly right after dinner!

Under the supervision of CHA Athletic Camp personnel, campers will ride from the CHA campus to and from Santa Monica aboard chartered bus service during regular Day Camp hours. Surfboards, wet suites, rash guards, sunscreen and healthy snacks are provided while campers must bring their own t-shirts, towel, sandals and shorts. Lunch may be carried or purchased at the beach.

Das Jesson, the owner of Islands Surf Camp, was five years old when his father introduced him to the ocean, and surfing has been an integral part of his life since then. He has been offering surf instruction for 10 years and started Islands Surf Camp to help share his love of the ocean and surfing.

All instructors of Islands Surf Camp have a minimum of five years teaching experience and are trained and certified in first aid and CPR for infants, children and adults. The mission at Islands Surf Camp is to provide campers with an experience that will last a lifetime!

Camp runs, with boarding of the bus, from 8:30 a.m.-3:45 p.m. with Extended Day Care available through Chatsworth Hills Day Camp.

Girls and Boys entering grades 3-8 $375/week
